Misleading honey brands harming nature, the bees & your body.
There is no shortage of adulterated and in general subpar honey in supermarket aisles. From A. importing honey from countries with questionable quality control and vetting standards, to B. heating honey to hide its source of origin, or the unwanted additives, or to fasten the bottling process, to C. the toxic and deadly compound HMF found amongst the biggest honey brands - there is a LOT a consumer needs to be mindful of when shopping for a truly raw and healthy honey.
Go behind marketing copy which uses phrases like ‘Grade A’ or ‘pure’ or even misleadingly claiming to be ‘raw’ or ‘unfiltered’ to fool consumers and allow manufacturers to hide their unethical beekeeping and honey processing practices. Find out how most store honey is actually produced and if your favorite brand has been heated and processed. Remember — if our honey has been heated, stripped of all its health benefits and reduced to a mere sweetener — it being gluten free, vegan or only having ‘X calories’ are not redeeming qualities.
Please Note: Here is my article on the best completely raw + unfiltered honey from small producers with integrity.

Nature Nate’s markets its honey as “100% pure, raw & unfiltered honey.” The assumption here is suppliers provide raw honey from honeycombs to Nature Nate’s, which directly bottles it into the containers we purchase. Nowhere does 100% pure, raw and unfiltered lead us to think the honey might be heated for ‘easier processing.’
