Toxic Skincare to Avoid
Beginning with deodorants, I research petrochemicals and other toxic ingredients to avoid in our skincare. With any leave-on skincare product, the quality and safety of the ingredients becomes even more important, as such ingredients are easily absorbed by our skin and go into our bloodstreams.
Old Spice Deodorants = Toxic Chemicals for Our Pits
Pictures of palm trees and beaches adorn Old Spice’s deodorants, but more appropriate imagery would be those of oil refineries and coal tar. That’s because Old Spice relies heavily on often toxic and never good for us by-products of petroleum refining for its ingredients base.
Lume Deodorant’s Toxic and Not So Natural Ingredients.
Lume is not a natural deodorant. Instead its ingredients use toxic carcinogens in their manufacturing process, include petrochemicals that should never be in skin care and are contaminated with PFAS “forever chemicals”. Health concern include both allergic reactions and unknown long term effects. Avoid.
